WOW!! What a Great Turnout.

Entries have closed.  You all are awesome! Its going to be a great show and one of our biggest! Please be patient with our volunteers as we navigate the day. 

A few notes to help everyone tomorrow.

1. Returning members, please bring and use your numbers.

2.  New participants will receive numbers at registration.

3.  As this is an official 4H event, helmets must be worn by every participant and don't forget your long sleeve shirts.

4.  Pizza will be provided for lunch.

5.  Gymkhana will be first, starting at 9:00 am with the  SR. Advanced class.

6. We ask that any Gymkhana only families, please help us set-up the Trail pattern as the other classes begin.

ATTENTION: State 4H Ranch Show and Gymkhana Rescheduled

Lets go Pinal County!  The State 4H Ranch Show and Gymkhana has been rescheduled for November 9th and 10th in Queen Creek and San Tan Valley.

Registration for the Ranch Horse and Gymkhana classes have been reopened for this event.  Please see the new Qualifiers Packet for details and registration information.

Annual HAC meeting - Zoom Meeting

 Hello 4-H Horse Families, 

Please join us next week on Thursday, September 19th @ 6:30pm via Zoom for our annual Horse Advisory Committee meeting. 

We need your help! We are a volunteer run committee who helps plan, run all the shows for Pinal County. If you would like to be on the committee come to this meeting. 

Here is what we will have on the adgenda:

Elect new officers: President, Vice President, Secreatary, Treasurer, Members at large, and youth represenstatives.   (Executive Officers must be a certifed leader) 

Discuss if there are any rule changes that need to be submitted. 

Come with dates and possible locations for 2-3 horse shows, and 1-2 sorting dates for events for our horse members, 

If you have resources for clinics, come with your ideas!

We want to make this a succussful year for our horse members but we cannot do it without the help of our amazing volunteers!

 Hello 4-H’ers,

 

The deadline for submitting record books this year is July 31st!  Please let us know how we can help you / your members complete their record book this year!  

 

Members who need access to a computer can always complete the forms at their local library or come by the Extension office and we will be glad to assist!  Membersmust complete their Record Books – Member Record and Project Record – in Zingbooks, under their profile enrollment.

You should of received a survey today and we ask that all horse members fill it out so that we can better determine what your youth is interested in at shows.

Notification of cancellation must be submitted in writing via email to dlreed@arizona.edu. Cancellations received by Tuesday, January 16, 2024 will be refunded, less a $5 cancellation fee. No refunds will be made for cancellations received after Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Horsemanship Testing Day - Judging - Horse Handling - Mastership
JUDGING:   Horses, riders, and helpers are needed! - If you can help, please contact Becky Callahan ASAP
JANUARY 21

**You may take a total of 2 tests on January 21.  You may only attempt 1 level of JUDGING.  


You must pre-register to test in any of the 3 events!

*Judging Sign in starts at 8:50 am
       You have to pre-register with the Google Form or contact Becky Callahan (520) 240-8895your information.
 If you are not pre- registered, you can not test.                                     We need your Name, Age, Club you're in, and what level you're testing for. 
*Judging clinic starts at 9 am
     (we teach you how to judge a horse correctly. Resources are also available on the website under the CE tab for JUDGING.
       It's a great practice and learning experience)
*Judging test starts at 10 am

4-H Members can help only after passing all 3 levels of Judging:  Adult volunteers are always welcome!

**Volunteers to take reasons, help sign in members, and help with scores are needed. **
4-H Members who have passed all 3 levels of Judging and want to help, please contact Becky! This counts as community service in your record books ðŸ˜€

REQUIRED:   dress appropriately in English or Western attire. 
 For Western: jeans, boots, long sleeve shirts(tucked in), belt and western hat(or helmet) 

 For English:  English boots, jodhpurs, English shirt(tucked in), belt, jacket, and helmet. 
Judging is Open to all 4-H and FFA members

*Herb Brown will be there for Mastership testing all day. 
**You may take a total of 2 tests on January 21, 2024**
You may only attempt 1 level of MASTERSHIP and 1 other test: You may attempt 2 levels of Mastership and no other tests.

Sign-in will start at approximately 12 pm    RSVP forms and Study Guides are available on the website!
Testing will start AFTER Judging concludes AND as soon as volunteers are ready.
REQUIRED:   dress appropriately in English or Western attire. 
 For Western: jeans, boots, long sleeve shirts(tucked in), belt and western hat(or helmet) 
 For English:  English boots, jodhpurs, English shirt(tucked in), belt, jacket, and helmet. 
**BRING YOUR PROJECT HORSE FOR HANDLING** Horses are NOT supplied at the event!

You MUST have someone from your club volunteer as a tester.
        Volunteers from each club testing MUST help to test other clubs so everyone can test promptly. 
        Contact your leader, or Candy, to help you arrange a tester!
