Did you know that Arizona has a $1.6 billion horse industry? In Pinal County, we take our horsing around seriously...serious learning, serious futures in equine, serious experiences and serious fun! Join us for our Annual HAC (Horse Advisory Committee) to learn more about the horse projects across Pinal County and Arizona. Become involved by joining the committee as an adult or youth member. It's a great time to revamp the program into exactly what we want in Pinal County!

*The current county rules say each club planning to attend county wide shows must have at least one adult and one youth member at HAC meetings. It's a great time for a fresh start!

The first 15-20 minutes of the meeting we will have awards for the 2017-2018 season!

Year End Awards/Buckle Update 7.25.18

Hello Pinal County 4-H Horse families!

As you are likely aware, we have had some struggles with our buckle provider and craftsmanship. Therefore, we had to move our awards from July 27 as planned to August 4 (please see calendar in the blog for all details).

Should more issues arise, we will let you know no later than Monday, July 30. We are very disappointed as our goal was for the kids to be able to show off their awards as they returned to school.

Thanks and happy back to school!

Update to Blog- Points, camp info, April newsletter

Hello 4-H Horse Families,

I updated the blog with the points from today's show along with the annual points. Congratulations to all members! What a great year it has been to see you all grow in 4-H!

Alesha and I will be working on year end awards within the next few months. We will plan to meet sometime within July. If your youth member has other ideas for year end awards other than a buckle please text Alesha and submit those ideas to her.

I have updated the county and state summer camp info. You can find that under the event section.  Looks like there is fun to be had at both camps. County camp is also providing transportation to and from. Be sure to reach out to the 4-H office with questions.

The April newsletter has been posted under the forms and docs sections.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Michelle

SCHEDULE CHANGE FOR SATURDAY APRIL 14 SHOW!

In order to accommodate the heat and encourage more interdiscplinary support we have made some schedule changes to our show schedule for Saturday, April 14, 2018.

8:00 English Showmanship

8:10-trail set-up. We will need all parents and families all any child participating in Western to help set up trail on the east end of the east arena.

8:30-English riding classes begin in west side of east arena.

30 minutes after English concludes, Western begins, NOT BEFORE 9 a.m.
Western classes: Showmanship (30 minute break to saddle and warm up) then pleasure, equitation, trail, western riding, reining and bareback. Break down trail course.

PINAL PIZZA PARTY! We would like to encourage community by eating lunch together. If your family would like to have pizza, please bring $10/family to the office no later than 10:30, so we can place an order. Plates, napkins and a cooler of waters will be donated by the Henderson family. We will eat the conclusion of Western bareback class. (estimating 11:30-12:00). We are estimating 45 minutes for lunch and warm up for gymkhana.

Gymkhana will follow lunch but not before 12:30. Barrels, poles and goats.

This is our final show for the 2017-2018 show. During lunch we can discuss ideas for a year end awards party. Remind the kids to bring their A game and show all that they have learned this year!

Also, please remember, this is your last chance to pay dues and sponsorship fees. In order to qualify for year end-awards (buckels and more), each child who participated must have raised at least $150 in sponsorship monies. These monies will need to be received by Michelle Weese no later than closing of the show on Saturday. If you have questions about monies still due, please contact Michelle at mweese73@gmail.com.
